Artist Statement

My work, characterized by its realism and complexity, aims to push the boundaries of traditional ceramics and functionality.
Drawing inspiration from various woven structures, my pieces echo the delicate interlacing of fibers and the robust patterns found in natural and man-made objects. This fascination with the interconnectedness of materials is mirrored in my creative process, where clay becomes a canvas for expressing the interconnected narratives of environment and human influence.
Each piece I create reflects meticulous study and a profound admiration for texture and form. The process is both a meditative journey and a technical challenge, as I strive to faithfully capture the essence of woven details within the constraints of ceramic media. The transformation of malleable earth into detailed, durable art forms is a metaphor for resilience and adaptation—a theme that resonates deeply in our contemporary world.
